Description
Daru Haldi (scientifically known as Berberis aristata and often called “Indian Barberry” or “Tree Turmeric”) is a vital herb in Ayurveda, but it is not the same as common turmeric.
Key Ayurvedic Uses
Because of its high berberine content, Daru Haldi is highly regarded for its potent pharmacological effects:
Skin Health: Widely used in herbal pastes for treating acne, psoriasis, eczema, and skin infections due to its strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties
Liver Support: It is considered a powerful hepatoprotective herb, often used in formulations to support liver function, jaundice recovery, and bile secretion.
Wound Healing: Its “Ropan” (healing) quality makes it a traditional choice for applying to wounds, burns, and ulcers to speed up recovery and prevent secondary infections.
