Ispan Harmaro (most commonly known in classical Ayurveda as Harmal or Haramala, and in Unani/Persian traditions as Ispand or Isband) refers to the potent seeds of Peganum harmala (Wild Rue / Syrian Rue).
In traditional Indian medicine, it is classified as a highly intense, specialized herb. Because of its extreme potency, it is often grouped under the Upavisha (semi-toxic/potent herbs that require careful purification and precise dosing) category.
